On Tuesday, June 6, Andy Thimlar, Sales Manager at Dreyer & Reinbold Subaru of Greenwood, delivered 80 warm, fuzzy blankets to patients at the Franciscan Health Cancer Center in south Indianapolis as part of the Subaru Loves to Care® initiative. Coordinated in partnership with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society®, the delivery included fun arts and craft kits for kids who visit the Cancer Center, either for treatment or with a parent receiving treatment. During the 2023 Share the Love campaign Dreyer & Reinbold Subaru raised $20,000 for Riley Children's Foundation. As the fundraising arm for Riley Children’s Health these funds supported the most urgent needs of Riley Hospital which has over 320,000 patient visits each year and treats patients from all 92 Indiana counties. Donations like the one from Dreyer & Reinbold Subaru provide hope and healing to our Riley kids and their families. The type of generosity shown by Subaru’s Share the Love Event is an example of the way that Hoosiers care for each other.
The Refuge is a faith based non-profit food pantry. We strive to offer our families not only food, but love and support. We meet with them face to face each visit and spend time investing in their lives and praying with them. We offer food, hygiene items, diapers, etc.... We want to not only be a place passing out food, but a ministry that spreads the word of God and helps our community come together to assist those in need. We see quite a few homeless people, so your donation of socks to our organization is such a blessing! We look forward to this partnership continuing and growing in the future. Special thank-you to Andy!!
In early August 2022, a concerned citizen found a stray dog wandering a busy street and brought her to Rosie’s Southside Animal Shelter. Upon intake staff quickly identified that Bunny, 1-year old Great Pyrenees was severely underweight. After several months of working on helping her to gain weight, she was on the right track for adoption in October. Through our partnership with Dreyer & Reinbold Subaru of Greenwood, we hosted a Make A Dog’s Day event at Rosie’s Southside Animal Shelter: 1614 W Edgewood Ave. At the event we passed out Subaru Bark Boxes, each dog received a Chewbaru, customers enjoyed the food cart, and had an opportunity to meet all our adoptable dogs. After the exposure from the adoption event, Bunny found her forever home. She is now living her best life with her forever family! Rosie’s Southside Animal Shelter would like to thank Andy Thilmar and Dreyer & Reinbold Subaru of Greenwood.
Please know we are deeply grateful for Dreyer & Reinbold Subaru Greenwood recent gift of $15,000 to support Riley Children’s Foundation through your annual Subaru Share the Love Event. Thanks to your generous support, Riley Children’s Foundation can direct funding toward exceptional care and research. The money raised through the Subaru Share the Love Event helps Riley Kids like Bryson Faus. He is 9 years old and has the biggest, most beautiful blue eyes, and his personality just warms your heart. Less than 24 hours after he was born, doctors at a hospital elsewhere told Bryson’s parents that he had a life-threatening congenital heart defect and needed to be rushed to Riley. His parents were told to take pictures of their newborn baby, because no one was sure if he would even survive the trip. He not only survived – thanks to Riley, he’s thriving. When I saw him just a few weeks ago, he was all smiles – he was just a kid having a great time talking about his Legos creations. These are the types of stories made possible by the generosity of people like you – thank you. Thank you again for being part of the community that brings hope to young people and their families. We appreciate all you and your colleagues do to lift Riley kids!
Greenwood Subaru sponsored our school, Southwest Elementary, and we are so grateful! Their kind donation helps every grade level purchase things they need! We also received quite a great stock in school supplies for kiddos and classrooms. Thank you Subaru!

We partnered with Subaru loves pets 31 pets in 31 days in October. It was a great success. Tanner came to us when this very active hound mix puppy was just too much for his family. Tanner was just exhibiting normal active puppy behavior. A family came in and adopted him and returned him for being too active again. We had a nice couple come in and they were willing to take the necessary time and effort to train Tanner. They have all settled in and are very happy family now!

We partnered with Subaru loves pets 31 pets in 31 days in October. It was a great success. One story that stands out to us is Mr. Bojangles. He is a feisty kitten and was getting passed up for the more lovable ones. Roman and his mom frequently volunteer at the shelter. Romans dog had recently passed away. He connected with Mr. Bojangles and they became immediate friends. Of course Roman knew he had to take Mr. Bojangles home. Mr. Bojangles feistiness somehow subsided in Romans arms.

When Eric Kett and Mark Brown of Dreyer & Reinbold Subaru pulled up in their new Ascent, full of blankets and tote bags, Franciscan Health staff members were ready for the onslaught of boxes. Michelle Nees, program coordinator of the bone marrow transplant unit, thanked them: “Thank you so much for this donation; it really means a lot to us.” At least six staff members, from two nurses and one BMT doctor to the community outreach director, from the oncology marketing director to the media relations director, were on hand to receive the donation and thank Dreyer & Reinbold Subaru. Michelle and Dr. Tandra then escorted Eric and Mark to the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, where they were able to present a blanket to two patients. Eric shared how much supporting their community meant to their Subaru retailer. At the end of the visit, Michelle expressed her appreciation again and shared with LLS later, “It was wonderful to be picked.” This was the first year that Dreyer & Reinbold Subaru had partnered with Franciscan Health; we hope to continue working together in the future! Delivering beautiful dark blue blankets, cute arts & crafts kits, and touching and personal cards to patients undergoing cancer treatment at IU Simon was a wonderful finale of this year’s Subaru Loves to Care program with Dreyer & Reinbold Subaru in Greenwood and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Estel “Stew” Stewart, clinical manager at IU Simon, shared how much patients have appreciated these unexpected gifts. Thank you to Dreyer & Reinbold – and especially to Andy – for literally bringing warmth to cancer patients at IU Simon with these blankets, and for bringing love and care through cards and craft kits! We are honored to partner with you to bring light to a time that can be full of darkness.
I wish I had pictures of a completed garden to send you! It is coming together it's just that when we received your offer to help us, things started to come together and it has taken on a life of its own! I actually have a meeting tomorrow morning about the next phase of our project actually breaking ground and construction! The sketch will be a little different when we actually plant. When this was drawn up, we didn't know what plants you were going to bless us with yet those obviously will be included! I love what you're doing with sending visitors out to a school. It would be awesome to have them with us for a ribbon cutting ceremony, don't you think?! I'll keep you posted on our progress. Thank you so much!
